MR Foundation of Tennessee, Inc. Awards Transportation Grant!

Dawn of Hope Executive Director Lee Chase accepts a grant check from MR Foundation Rep. Jim Haselsteiner.

MR Foundation of Tennessee, Inc., a Knights of Columbus sponsored charity, awards Dawn of Hope with a $12,492 grant to assist in the purchase of three additional transportation mini buses.  Dawn of Hope provides transportation services for participants to and from their homes, individual programs at the Dawn of Hope Developmental and Vocational Centers, Community Based Employment locations, various medical appointments, and any additional personal, community or family events.  The transportation department provides services to Carter, Greene, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington Counties; transporting more than 150 individuals per day and travelling an average of 62,500 miles per month, totaling well over 750,000 miles per year. Dawn of Hope, Inc. transportation staff have skills training in: defensive driving, American Red Cross CPR & First Aid, certified in Sur-Lok wheelchair restraint & securement, seizure disorders, behavior supports, ADA, abuse prevention, protection from harm and sensitivity training.
