An annual campaign across the Country to increase awareness of this devastating disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. To support this amazing cause, the Dawn of Hope Ladies League headed up a ‘breast cancer awareness’ walk, which included staff, family members and Service Recipients. Participants demonstrated awareness and exhibited support by walking through the halls of Dawn of Hope wearing various shades of pink, which is the signature color of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Two of our Service Recipients in particular, Diane and Bell, walked extra proudly today as they both celebrated being breast cancer survivors! The walk concluded in the gymnasium, where the group was presented with a check that will be donated to Susan B. Komen for the Cure on behalf of the Dawn of Hope Ladies League.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
