The Ladies League, a social and community club comprised of service recipients and staff in the EXCELS Developmental Program at Dawn of Hope, gather together once a week for group activities and learning.
To kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness month and assist them in reaching their donation goal they will be hosting a Bazaar on Friday, October 2nd in the Dawn of Hope gymnasium from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The Bazaar will feature baked goods and craft items for sale; all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
Over the past four years, during the month of October, the Ladies League has recognized Breast Cancer Awareness month by encouraging staff and fellow service recipients to wear pink and participate in a walk around the Stratton building and grounds. This year in honor of all those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, including two of their fellow service recipients, the Ladies League is raising funds for the fight against breast cancer. They have formed a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Team – Anchors in Hope, to participate in the Tri-Cities Walk on Sunday, October 18th at Founders Park. They have also set a goal of raising more than $750 to donate to the American Cancer Society & the fight against breast cancer.
