Ghosts, goblins, and vampires galore…We are excited to announce that the 1st Annual Spooktacular & $10,000 Reverse Raffle, presented by Cherokee Distributing and held on Friday, October 13th at the Millennium Centre, was a spooktacular success! The event raised more than $35,000, all of which will help support life enhancing programs for more than 200 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
The costumed event immersed all who dared to enter in the spirit of Halloween as they walked through the decorated halls. “Halloweentown,” complete with Jack, Sally and Oogie Boogie, greeted our guests at the top of the stairs, and hors d’oeuvres were served a la “Day of the Dead” while many perused the numerous auction packages in the “Little Shop of Horrors”. Guests gathered in the Ghoulish Graveyard for ghostly photos, while Witches and Warlocks from On the Rocks Bartenders served their brew from the rickety Witches Brew bar, courtesy of One Stop Wine and Cherokee Distributing.
A fantastic night of food, fun, friends and a little bit of green for a fortunate few! Five lucky winners split the $10,000 Grand Prize: Rich Feit, Tom & Becky Krieger, Monique LeSage, Steve Mascola, and Nancy Smith! Additionally, there was thirteen $125 winners; Jeff Anderson, Brad Chase, Maria Clark, Lynn Egan, Felix Hutchinson, Melanie Hungate, Colby Kreutzer, Dan Mahoney, Terry Moore, Paula Reed, Al Spritzer, Jay Stafford, and Lynda Wexler.
The Spooktacular brings in funding that is vital to our success as an organization, and we are humbled by the generosity of all of those who contribute to the event. Thank you for the generosity of the numerous Sponsors, In-Kind Donors, Volunteers, and the plethora of Community Partners for their support and for helping make our work at
Dawn of Hope possible.
