Rotating Program
This program is divided into six different training areas which are designed to teach individuals to make choices and to be as independent as possible.
Home Planning Area
This training area offers training on all aspects of cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. There is a broad range of skills to be worked on from mixing Jell-O to preparing a complete meal, or from wiping the table to mopping the floor.
Motor/Recreation Area
This area concentrates on exercise, leisure activities, community participation, Special Olympics, table games, etc.
Independent Living Skills Area
Community safety, shopping skills, daily living skills are worked on in the area. Much time is spent on exploring the community and being able to function as independently as possible while out in the community.
Arts and Crafts Area
This area is designed to help our individuals develop more leisure time skills. They are very proud of their accomplishments and are always eager to share their completed projects with others.
Pre-Vocational
This program teaches work skills and offers our individuals an opportunity to work and earn a paycheck. They learn skills that will help prepare them to go to the workshop and/or to eventually work in the community.
Active Elderly
This area is for individuals age 55 and older who want to be retired, yet still attend a day program. These service recipients enjoy shopping, eating out, arts and crafts, listening to music, growing flowers and all the other things retired people like to do. Even at this age, staff works on teaching them to make choices and to be more independent.
