20th Annual Dawn of Hope Golf Classic a Great Success!

The Dawn of Hope Golf Classic celebrates 20 years of golfing for a great cause. The golf classic was held on August 27th at the Johnson City Country Club. Bud Dugger, a participant at Dawn of Hope kicked off the festivities by hitting the ceremonial tee shot. In honor of the 20th anniversary of the tournament, Lee Chase Executive Director and Tournament Chairman Tim Jones recognized the founder of the tournament, Mr. Ron Crumley, as well as former committee members who were instrumental in the success of the tournament. They were Hugh Berry, Fred Bullard and Glenn Shaw.

Chase said, “It was wonderful to see and visit with these great golfers who did so much in developing and advancing the Dawn of Hope Golf Classic to be one of the most successful charity golf tournaments in Northeast Tennessee. We appreciate so much both their passion for golf and the people served by the Dawn of Hope.”

The tournament was a great success with 94 players and netting over $19,100 thanks to the efforts of the tournament planning committee under the direction of Jones. They were Tim Jones, Chairman, Tom Harris; Vice Chairman, Sam East, Karel Elbers, Al Fatherree, Laura Hampton, Jacob Higginbotham, Jim Jordan, Hardy Link, and Robert Sampson, Jr. Thank you to all our sponsors, players and volunteers for making this year’s tournament such a success.
