The Dawn of Hope Foundation

The mission of the Dawn of Hope Foundation is to educate individuals and organizations about the existence, needs, and purpose of the Dawn of Hope, Inc. and to generate and manage resources, which will enhance the quality and scope of services provided to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Northeast Tennessee.

History
Established in 1978 for the exclusive benefit of the Dawn of Hope, Inc. to solicit, collect, receive, accumulate, administer, and disburse funds and property on its behalf. The purpose of the Foundation is exclusively charitable. A Board of Trustees, members of which serve three-year terms of office, governs the Foundation.

Responsibility
The Board of Trustees of the Dawn of Hope Foundation is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fund development plan and management and disbursement of the Foundation’s resources. Current fundraising includes:

Annual Fund Drive
The $10,000 Big Spring Break Drawing and Silent Auction
Walkway of Hope Brick Sale

Houses for Hope
On May 30th the Foundation held a Ground Breaking Ceremony for Houses for Hope. The Foundation is building handicap accessible homes in Carter County to help meet the needs of individuals served by the Dawn of Hope Residential Program.
